If your MacBook or MacBook Pro with Retina has some odd stains or discolorations on the screen, good news: Apple may be doing something about it.

Apple quietly launched a program through which it will replace Retina displays on affected laptops for free, counting one year from Oct. 16, 2015 or three years from the date of original purchase, according to a MacRumors report.

Staingate has seemingly stemmed from the Retina screen’s anti-reflecting coating wearing off, which is documented on the website Staingate.org and a Facebook group called “MacBook Retina STAIN ON DISPLAY / damaged AR coating,” which has collected numerous reports from users experiencing its effects.
