A family-friendly robot that can help structure your day, monitor home security and even play with the kids could be all yours by 2016.

Makers of the droid named Buddy say ‘he’ is designed to connect, protect, and interact with each member of the family and is currently being developed by French tech company, Blue Frog Robotics.

With a number of in-built features, the robot is able to do everything from remind you of an important event to play a song at your request via an in-built speaker.
