YouTube first got around to adding support for 60 frames per second video playback last year. Select video partners were the first to get the option in June followed by a full rollout to all in October. One of the few requirements, however, was that you needed to be watching from the web.
Fortunately, that’s no longer the case.
As of writing, those buttery smooth 60 fps videos can also be viewed on the YouTube mobile app for both Android and iOS. The announcement was made on the YouTube Creators Google+ page.
